Our First Two Camp Fires of the Year!
We had a great time collecting sticks, crumpling paper and watching the fire.  Before lighting our first fire we discussed fire safe.  The kids were all very careful around the fire and excited to watch the popcorn pop.  Sadly, due to the lack of rain, we were able to have another fire until today, but today we were right back at it and made apple sauce over the fire.  We had such a fun time building the fire, cutting the apples, watching them cook, running the boiling apples through the food mill, and best of all... eating the apple sauce!

Southworth Park We've taken advantage of the beautiful weather that we've had over the past couple of Tuesdays and have hiked to Southworth Park for fun and adventures.  Ms. Beth, our outdoor educator, has built a fire with the kids, and we've made popcorn and hot chocolate. The kids have enjoyed digging in the dirt, finding worms, building fairy houses, playing tag and so much more.  It's always enjoyable to read books and eat snack up there too. A few of the second graders even joined us one day.
