No Rainy Day Blues in Our Preschool

Image
No Rainy Day Blues in Our Preschool The rain didn't stop our preschoolers from having fun on Friday!  We had fun in the gym and stomped in puddles while it rained.  Some of our nappers even got to "camp out" for nap time in their own tents.  All in all we had tons of smiles and lots of laughter throughout the rainy day. Westshire Fair

The Westshire Fair The preschoolers had an exciting morning at the Westshire Fair today.  We checked out the recycled art projects that students throughout the school made, listened to a group of students from K through 5th grade drumming with the music teacher, and then get to pet two calves that were visiting the school.  After we saw the calves, they all ate donut holes and drank apple cider while we took a hay ride around the school grounds, and another highlight for many of the kids was the maple syrup cotton candy everyone was given.  What an exciting day!

Fun at the River

Fun at the River We've visited the river three times already this fall.  The kids have had a ball digging in the sand, building with the rocks, drawing with sticks, getting wet, and throwing rocks into the water.  While playing at the river we explore concepts like: why do bigger rocks typically make bigger splashes? Does the splash size change if I drop the rock from a higher place? How many rocks can I stack before they fall (count the rocks)? How can I make a tower that is higher? What happens when I pour water into the sand?  Where does it go? I want the shovel my friend has. What should I do?  These are only a few of the concepts that the kids work on while having fun and playing.  Who knew you could learn so much when you play!
