 Sand Brigade!

A load of sand for our sandbox was delivered and dumped outside our playground yesterday afternoon.  We have quite a job in front of us to move all of the sand from the walkway to the sandbox.  Luckily, we had 9 willing workers this morning.  I have a feelings that we will be putting them to work for several days to come.

VINS: Snakes!!!!

  A REAL snake came to visit the classroom! Hannah, from VINS, visited again last week and brought a garter snake for the kids to see and even touch. We learned about what they eat, where they live, and how they shed their skin as they grow. The highlight of the day was the very funny puppet show and getting to touch the snake. Snake Bingo What do garter snakes eat? Through the puppet show and the Bingo game, the students learned that garter snakes prey on mice, fish, frogs, crayfish, snails, slugs, and more. Snake Skin When snakes grow, they shed their skin. Snake Habitat Game The REAL thing!!
