 How many BLOCKS tall are we?

We began measuring our painted people with links and then remeasured them with blocks.  The students hypothesized whether it would take more blocks or fewer blocks than links to measure the height of each person, length of their arms, and length of their foot.  The students counted the blocks and then compared the results to those they got when counting the links.  We also compared the height of different students.

Southworth Park We've taken advantage of the beautiful weather that we've had over the past couple of Tuesdays and have hiked to Southworth Park for fun and adventures.  Ms. Beth, our outdoor educator, has built a fire with the kids, and we've made popcorn and hot chocolate. The kids have enjoyed digging in the dirt, finding worms, building fairy houses, playing tag and so much more.  It's always enjoyable to read books and eat snack up there too. A few of the second graders even joined us one day.
