Outdoor Classroom
Outdoor Classroom Every Tuesday we will be going to one of our outdoor classrooms. In the spring and fall, we usually walk to Southworth Park and spend the morning there. In the winter and on questionable weather days, we will likely walk to the outdoor space that is just beyond the baseball field. While out there, we read books, explore, build with natural materials, work on math, science, and literacy concepts, and of course, social interaction. It is always impressive to me to watch the children work together to move tree branches, dig holes, build structures, and do so much more. Our outdoor education teacher, Beth, will be joining us on Tuesdays for our adventures. She often builds campfires and cooks with the students. It is typically my favorite day of the week as it is for many of the children as well.
