A Great First Week

We had a fantastic first week of preschool! 

In discussing our hopes and dreams for the school year, the kids seemed to concentrate most of their hopes and dreams around playing outside (dreams that I hope grow and grow well into adulthood)


 The climbing structure was a particular favorite for some.





Swinging "really, really high" was a favorite for others.


And thanks to some special parents, we have a new mud kitchen that the kids absolutely love!
  They have made cakes, cookies, soups and a variety of other imaginary concoctions from dirt, wood chips, sticks, and grass.  It's been a fantastic addition to our playground.


Best of all, everyone is making new friends!

Row, row, row your boat... A good core workout! Southworth Park

Southworth Park We've taken advantage of the beautiful weather that we've had over the past couple of Tuesdays and have hiked to Southworth Park for fun and adventures.  Ms. Beth, our outdoor educator, has built a fire with the kids, and we've made popcorn and hot chocolate. The kids have enjoyed digging in the dirt, finding worms, building fairy houses, playing tag and so much more.  It's always enjoyable to read books and eat snack up there too. A few of the second graders even joined us one day.
