Mooooo!

A successful field trip to the farm!

From my observations, I'd say everyone had a great time.  A few were a bit hesitant at the beginning, but there were smiles all around by the end.  Wow!  That is an impressive milking operation that they have going at the Newmont Farm.  All those cows!  I loved seeing how all those cows are milked and learning about the process.  I think its great for the kids to see with their own eye where their milk comes from.

I know a large group of kids were impressed with all the tractors driving on the hills of cow feed.  I'm not sure the kids grasped what was going on, but they did enjoy seeing the tractors drive up and down the hill and the huge dump trucks dumping their loads.
Painting pumpkins and having the cheese and chocolate milk was definitely a treat for most of the kids!  There were lots of smiles all around (some with chocolate mustaches) during that time.

The highlight for many, though, were the cow train rides. I have to admit, it was fun to have an excuse to jump on the train and go for a ride (3 or 4 times if I'm honest).

Thanks to Brook and her family for inviting us to their farm, feeding us, and giving us pumpkins.  What a treat!
