Color and Water Experimenting

The kids had a great time playing with colored water. While experimenting with mixing colors and surface tension, the kids unknowingly worked on their small motor pincer grip and learned a bit about how yellow and blue make green, red and blue make purple, and yellow and red make orange.  All the colors together make a brownish black. 
Yet another way to learn while playing.

Southworth Park We've taken advantage of the beautiful weather that we've had over the past couple of Tuesdays and have hiked to Southworth Park for fun and adventures.  Ms. Beth, our outdoor educator, has built a fire with the kids, and we've made popcorn and hot chocolate. The kids have enjoyed digging in the dirt, finding worms, building fairy houses, playing tag and so much more.  It's always enjoyable to read books and eat snack up there too. A few of the second graders even joined us one day.

 Fun in the Outdoor Classroom We continue to have fun and learn in our outdoor classroom. Last Tuesday we read an ABC book with alphabet photographs from nature.
