Quail Chicks

Image
Quail Chicks Over the last month, the students and staff have been patient (and not so patiently at times) watching and waiting for our quail chicks to hatch.  We monitored the incubator, made sure the heat was at the right temperature and the humidity remained steady, and we rotated the eggs.  Finally, last week, the chicks hatched- 9 of them! It was a super exciting week.  The kids all got to gently pet the quail chicks and some even asked to hold them. It was well worth the wait. Some of the kids read to the eggs and chicks to make the happy.

An Exciting day!

An Exciting Day! What a fun day we've had.  It started by having the 2nd graders visit our classroom and read with our preschoolers.  The second graders had practiced reading the books that they brought and did a fantastic job reading. Later in the morning, we noticed that the quails have started to hatch.  Over the next several days we will hopefully have several baby quails in our classroom. Just before lunch, a dinosaur visited our classroom!  Who knew that there were dinosaurs still living around here. And to top off an already great day, Evan joined us in the afternoon.
