 Spring Came Early This Year!

We've been enjoying the warm weather this week! Most of the snow is gone, but the ground is still icy in places and very wet. Pants and mittens are getting super soaked and muddy, but the smiles are worth it (of course, I'm not the one who has to wash their clothes)!

Beth showed us how to tap a maple tree, so we'll be checking the buckets and watching for the sap to fill them. Cross your fingers for cold nights and warm, sunny days so the sap will run well.

Southworth Park We've taken advantage of the beautiful weather that we've had over the past couple of Tuesdays and have hiked to Southworth Park for fun and adventures.  Ms. Beth, our outdoor educator, has built a fire with the kids, and we've made popcorn and hot chocolate. The kids have enjoyed digging in the dirt, finding worms, building fairy houses, playing tag and so much more.  It's always enjoyable to read books and eat snack up there too. A few of the second graders even joined us one day.
