Pumpkins and Halloween Prep

Halloween Prep!


The kids loved carving there own pumpkins!  Thanks to those at Newmont Farm for donating pumpkins to our students.

  

K. scooped the seeds out and carved a happy Jack O Lantern.

  

C carved a scary pumpkin and T wanted a happy one with square eyes.


N carved a doubled sided Jack O Lantern: one scary and one happy side.

 


G. concentrated hard on carving his vampire pumpkin.


C and L enjoyed designing their pumpkins too.


A chose a huge pumpkin to carve.

 

A got right into the fun as well.



 




We made bats to decorate our tent for our Halloween Party.

Southworth Park We've taken advantage of the beautiful weather that we've had over the past couple of Tuesdays and have hiked to Southworth Park for fun and adventures.  Ms. Beth, our outdoor educator, has built a fire with the kids, and we've made popcorn and hot chocolate. The kids have enjoyed digging in the dirt, finding worms, building fairy houses, playing tag and so much more.  It's always enjoyable to read books and eat snack up there too. A few of the second graders even joined us one day.

 Fun in the Outdoor Classroom We continue to have fun and learn in our outdoor classroom. Last Tuesday we read an ABC book with alphabet photographs from nature. We then looked for and made our own letters out of nature. Check out the letters we made.
