Fire Fighters

 Fire Fighters visited our class today and talked about fire safety. 

The kids learned about calling 911 and crawling or "slithering" on their bellies to get out of a building that has smoke.  They Fire fighters answered tons of questions about their gear and how they fight fires.  It was a pretty exciting visit all in all.

Southworth Park We've taken advantage of the beautiful weather that we've had over the past couple of Tuesdays and have hiked to Southworth Park for fun and adventures.  Ms. Beth, our outdoor educator, has built a fire with the kids, and we've made popcorn and hot chocolate. The kids have enjoyed digging in the dirt, finding worms, building fairy houses, playing tag and so much more.  It's always enjoyable to read books and eat snack up there too. A few of the second graders even joined us one day.
