 Spring is coming!

Despite the wind and chilly weather, the spring is coming.  The snow is melting and the playground is beginning to dry out.  We walked to the river yesterday and saw that the ice is gone and the water is running high from the melting snow.   You can feel the excitement in the students when it is warm enough to take off hats and mittens or unzip coats.  In a few weeks we'll be able to send the snow pants home and just wear rain pants when it is wet outside.

Southworth Park We've taken advantage of the beautiful weather that we've had over the past couple of Tuesdays and have hiked to Southworth Park for fun and adventures.  Ms. Beth, our outdoor educator, has built a fire with the kids, and we've made popcorn and hot chocolate. The kids have enjoyed digging in the dirt, finding worms, building fairy houses, playing tag and so much more.  It's always enjoyable to read books and eat snack up there too. A few of the second graders even joined us one day.
