A New Year Begins!
We've had a fantastic beginning to the school year.  The students are learning the new routines and getting to know each other. The returning students have been a huge help, showing the new students the ropes.  The first few weeks of school are all about learning the routine and expectations.  I'm amazed at how quickly this group is figuring things out.  

A few reminders:
1. Don't forget to sign in and out every day.
2. Sign up for breakfast and lunch at the beginning of the week.
3. Checks for the afternoon care can be made out to RISD

Southworth Park We've taken advantage of the beautiful weather that we've had over the past couple of Tuesdays and have hiked to Southworth Park for fun and adventures.  Ms. Beth, our outdoor educator, has built a fire with the kids, and we've made popcorn and hot chocolate. The kids have enjoyed digging in the dirt, finding worms, building fairy houses, playing tag and so much more.  It's always enjoyable to read books and eat snack up there too. A few of the second graders even joined us one day.

 Fun in the Outdoor Classroom We continue to have fun and learn in our outdoor classroom. Last Tuesday we read an ABC book with alphabet photographs from nature.
