Fun in the Gym

Fun in the Gym!
Gross motor skills are an important set of skills that we constantly work on in preschool. Like all our learning, we work on these skills while having fun and playing. The games, activities, and materials that we set out for the children to play with are deliberately chosen to target specific skills. Preschool is designed so that children maximize their learning without even realizing that they are learning.

In the gym, we frequently set out balls of different sizes, wheeled vehicles that work different muscles and skills (balance bikes, tricycles with peddles, vehicles that are moved with the upper body...), obstacle courses where children have to climb under, over, and through objects, mini trampolines to jump on, and so much more.  The gym is also a great space to run out some energy on cold rainy days when we don't stay outside for long.

Today we had an extra treat.  We got out the bouncy obstacle course.
